Finance Manager - Cost Management & Performance - Contract

We are supporting a large UK organisation with the recruitment of an experienced Finance Manager to lead cost performance, financial planning and management insight across a complex operational environment. You'll work closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders to improve financial transparency, strengthen forecasting processes and deliver meaningful analysis that supports business decision-making.

The successful candidate will bring a strong combination of commercial finance, financial control and business partnering skills, with the ability to turn large volumes of data into actionable insight.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Leading cost forecasting, budgeting and month-end performance reporting.

  • Producing insightful analysis and recommendations for senior leadership teams.

  • Improving reporting processes, controls and financial governance.

  • Driving consistency and best practice across financial planning and cost management activities.

  • Partnering with operational and corporate teams to challenge assumptions and improve cost visibility.

  • Supporting the development of reporting tools, dashboards and financial models.

  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance decision-making through better use of data.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Strong experience in FP&A, cost management, commercial finance or financial reporting.

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial information clearly.

  • Comfortable working with large datasets and translating analysis into business outcomes.

  • Experience operating within large, matrix organisations.

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a track record of driving improvement.

  • Exposure to regulated industries, utilities, infrastructure or similarly complex environments.

  • Experience with planning and reporting tools such as Anaplan, Power BI, TM1 or equivalent.

  • Previous involvement in finance transformation, process optimisation or reporting enhancement programmes.
