About the Company

A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Finland. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of one of Europe's most significant mission-critical developments, working alongside multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design process, coordinating stakeholders, driving technical solutions, and ensuring the project is delivered in line with programme, quality, and client requirements.

Rotation & Mobilisation Package

  • 10 Days On / 4 Days Off rotation

  • Return flights provided for each rotation

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design delivery process across multiple disciplines.

  • Coordinate design activities between consultants, subcontractors, construction teams, and client representatives.

  • Ensure designs are compliant with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive design reviews, technical workshops, and value engineering initiatives.

  • Manage design programmes and ensure key deliverables are achieved in line with project milestones.

  • Oversee design change management and technical issue resolution.

  • Support procurement and construction teams with technical guidance throughout project delivery.

  • Ensure effective communication and reporting across all project stakeholders.

  • Promote BIM and digital design coordination best practices across the project team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline (Master's degree advantageous).

  • Minimum 8 years' experience within Design Management, Project Engineering, or Technical Project Delivery roles.

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, energy, or similarly complex infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, building services, and critical infrastructure design principles.

  • Experience working within principal contractors, engineering contractors, consultancies, or major project environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders across design, construction, and client teams.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

  • Experience using BIM environments, digital design coordination tools, and design management platforms.

  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced project environment with demanding delivery schedules.

Required Skills
