Design Document Manager – Data Centre & Mission Critical Projects (Nordics)
Location: Finland, Sweden & Norway
Employment Type: Full-Time
Rotation: Typically 10 Days On / 4 Days Off (Project Dependent)

About the Opportunity
We are working with several leading design & build contractors, engineering organisations, and project delivery teams who are actively seeking experienced Design Document Managers to support major Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Energy, and Infrastructure projects across the Nordic region.
As a Design Document Manager, you will take ownership of the design information management process, ensuring the efficient control, coordination, and distribution of all design documentation throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Design Managers, BIM teams, consultants, project managers, and site delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely information flow from concept design through to construction and handover.
This role is critical to maintaining design quality, compliance, and project efficiency on some of Europe's largest and most technically advanced developments.
Key Responsibilities
Design Information Management
Manage the full lifecycle of design documentation, including drawings, specifications, technical submissions, reports, schedules, and correspondence.
Establish and maintain document control procedures aligned with project and client requirements.
Ensure all design information is correctly registered, tracked, distributed, and archived.
Maintain document registers and ensure strict version control across all design deliverables.
Design Team Coordination
Act as the central point of contact for all design-related documentation.
Coordinate document flow between consultants, architects, engineers, BIM teams, contractors, and client representatives.
Monitor design deliverable schedules and ensure documentation is issued in line with programme requirements.
Track design reviews, approvals, comments, and outstanding actions.
Systems, Standards & Compliance
Manage document management platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Aconex, Asite, Procore, or equivalent systems.
Ensure compliance with project document management plans, naming conventions, revision protocols, and client standards.
Perform quality checks to verify document accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Support project audits and maintain full traceability of design records.
Design & Construction Support
Ensure project teams always have access to the latest approved design information.
Support Design Managers and project leadership with reporting on design deliverables and document status.
Assist with design change management and revision tracking.
Support project handover and close-out documentation processes.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve document workflows and information management processes.
Support digital delivery initiatives and BIM-related information management requirements.
Promote best practice information management across project teams.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Design Document Manager, Senior Document Controller, Information Manager, or similar role within construction, engineering, architecture, or design environments.
Strong understanding of design management processes and information flow within major construction projects.
Experience supporting multidisciplinary design teams.
Proficiency using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Aconex, Asite, Procore, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of document control standards, revision management, and design deliverable tracking.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities within fast-paced project environments.
Experience on Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Infrastructure, Energy, Pharmaceutical, or similarly complex projects is highly desirable.
