Data Governance Lead - Energy Industry

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Data Governance Lead to help shape and strengthen enterprise-wide data governance within a leading organisation in the energy sector.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in building trusted, high-quality data foundations across a complex, data-rich environment supporting critical national infrastructure.

  • 6 month contract

  • INSIDE IR35

  • Requires travel once a week to London office (central London)


What you’ll be doing

  • Driving data governance standards, policies and best practices

  • Partnering with the wider organisation

  • Monitoring and improving data quality, integrity and consistency

  • Supporting access management and role-based access controls (RBAC)

  • Managing metadata and data cataloguing using Microsoft Purview

  • Defining data lifecycle processes and governance controls

  • Investigating and resolving data quality issues

  • Delivering data literacy and governance training across the business

  • Supporting GDPR and broader data protection compliance initiatives

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in data governance, data stewardship or data management roles

  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management and access controls

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalogue/governance tools

  • Knowledge of GDPR, data protection and governance best practices

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
