Cyber Security Engineer - Energy Sector
2 year fixed term contract role with aim to move into full permanent role
2 days a week in the London office
£84,000 - £97,000 salary (base + car allowance) + bonus + benefits
Our client are a leading energy company and are looking to recruit a Cyber Security Consultant/Engineer role to join their growing Cyber Security team in London.
The role isn't strictly just within the discipline of architecture or engineering but more a technical cyber security generalist to support the key day-to-day activities and major projects. The main duties of this role will be to become a technical advisor / expert and provide continued technical guidance to the Cyber team, IT teams, business and project teams to maintain a high level of cyber security compliance throughout.
We expect the candidate to have a broad range of technical skills across the IT discipline, with experience in OT also preferred and have a strong understanding of how cycler security principles can be applied via technical solutions and technical decision making. They also need to have a good understanding or risk and compliance and advise and guide on how to technically achieve compliance. To reiterate we are not looking for a low-level technical specialist in one technology solution, but more of a broader range of cyber and technical skills to contribute and complement the rest of the Cyber Security team.
Define and maintain security architecture principles, patterns and standards across IT and OT environments.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into secure technical designs.
Act as the cyber security technical expert for projects and ensure security due diligence during solution delivery.
Provide technical security guidance to IT teams and business stakeholders.
Lead and contribute to cyber security projects ensuring end-to-end security across the lifecycle.
Promote and implement Cyber-by-Design principles.
Contribute to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to ensure solutions comply with internal controls and security frameworks.
Maintain awareness of emerging cyber and digital technologies and identify security improvements.
Produce and maintain cyber security technical documentation and standards.
Support cyber security risk analysis and risk management for technical solutions.
Act as a UK technical point of contact for assurance functions including Internal Audit, Risk Management, Legal and external auditors.
