Hyperscale Data Centre Project – Finland

Overview
An opportunity for an experienced CSA Lead to take full ownership of Civil, Structural, and Architectural delivery on a major hyperscale data centre project in Finland.

This is a senior leadership role on a €1BN+ programme, responsible for safety, quality, programme, cost, coordination, subcontractor management, and handover across the full CSA scope.

The successful candidate will lead the CSA organisation on site and work closely with project management, MEP, commissioning, logistics, commercial, HSE, QAQC, and client teams.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants genuine scope ownership and visibility on one of Europe’s major data centre builds.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Lead CSA delivery on a €1BN+ hyperscale data centre programme

  • Work on a 500MW AI-ready campus with long-term expansion

  • Take full ownership of civil, structural, architectural, and associated site delivery

  • Direct interface with project leadership, client stakeholders, and cross-functional teams

  • Influence programme, cost, quality, safety, and handover outcomes

  • Manage and lead a dedicated CSA team and subcontractor base

  • Strong progression route into Project Manager, Senior Construction Manager, or Project Director level roles

  • Gain top-tier data centre delivery experience that puts you in the highest-value part of the construction market

The Company
The business is a leading European design & build general contractor specialising in large-scale mission-critical data centre projects.

They manage projects end-to-end, from design and engineering through to construction, commissioning support, and handover. The contractor model gives the CSA Lead real responsibility across delivery, coordination, interface management, and performance.

This is a fast-paced, high-standard environment suited to leaders who can take ownership, manage complexity, and drive delivery across multiple work fronts.

Role Purpose
The CSA Lead will be responsible for the full delivery of Civil, Structural, and Architectural works across the project.

You will ensure the CSA scope is delivered safely, on time, to specification, within budget, and in line with handover requirements. You will lead CSA teams, manage subcontractor performance, resolve interfaces, and represent CSA matters to project leadership and the client.

Key Responsibilities
CSA Scope Leadership

  • Take overall responsibility for planning, execution, and delivery of all CSA works

  • Manage civil works, structural works, architectural fit-out, underground services, external works, and associated building elements

  • Ensure CSA delivery aligns with project programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements

  • Act as the main point of contact for CSA matters with project management and client teams

  • Drive delivery performance across CSA work fronts

  • Ensure design, procurement, construction, and handover activities are aligned

  • Identify delivery risks early and implement practical mitigation plans

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead, manage, and support the CSA delivery team

  • Set clear objectives, responsibilities, and expectations for the CSA function

  • Coordinate CSA engineers, supervisors, package leads, subcontractors, and support teams

  • Build a strong delivery culture focused on safety, quality, programme, and accountability

  • Mentor team members and support their development

  • Ensure the CSA team is properly resourced to meet project demands

  • Escalate issues where additional support or decisions are required

Planning, Sequencing and Interface Management

  • Oversee CSA construction planning, sequencing, phasing, and workface coordination

  • Coordinate interfaces between CSA, MEP, logistics, commissioning, QAQC, HSE, and client works

  • Resolve constructability, access, sequencing, and coordination challenges on a live site

  • Support lookahead planning and short-term delivery planning

  • Ensure CSA works support overall project milestones and commissioning requirements

  • Manage dependencies between building readiness, MEP installation, system handover, and client requirements

  • Work closely with Planning Manager to track progress and manage schedule risk

Safety, Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure CSA works are executed in line with HSE requirements, permits, regulations, and project procedures

  • Drive a strong safety culture within the CSA organisation and subcontractor teams

  • Ensure works are delivered to specification and quality standards

  • Work closely with QAQC teams to manage inspections, ITPs, snagging, defects, and close-out

  • Ensure subcontractors understand and meet quality and safety expectations

  • Monitor site conditions and intervene where standards are not being met

  • Support audits, inspections, and client reviews where required

Subcontractor and Package Management

  • Manage CSA subcontractor performance across delivery, safety, quality, programme, and coordination

  • Review subcontractor plans, progress, manpower, constraints, and risks

  • Hold subcontractors accountable for agreed outputs

  • Coordinate subcontractor interfaces and resolve clashes between work packages

  • Ensure subcontractor scopes, deliverables, and responsibilities are clearly understood

  • Support procurement and commercial teams with subcontractor-related issues

  • Drive productivity and remove blockers to site progress

Commercial and Change Management

  • Support the Commercial team with CSA-related cost control, variations, risk management, and change assessment

  • Identify scope changes, delays, and commercial risks early

  • Provide technical and delivery input into variation assessments

  • Ensure change impacts are understood and communicated

  • Support accurate reporting on CSA progress, constraints, and risk

  • Help protect the project from avoidable cost and programme exposure

Handover and Close-Out

  • Oversee CSA handover strategy in coordination with handover, QAQC, commissioning, and client teams

  • Ensure documentation, inspections, punch lists, as-built information, and turnover packages are complete

  • Support phased handover to MEP, commissioning, and client teams

  • Ensure CSA works are completed to a standard that supports system readiness and project close-out

  • Drive completion of snags, defects, and outstanding works

  • Maintain focus on handover requirements throughout the delivery phase

Client and Stakeholder Interface

  • Represent CSA delivery in project leadership and client meetings

  • Provide clear updates on progress, risks, constraints, and recovery actions

  • Work closely with client representatives and consultants to resolve technical and delivery issues

  • Maintain strong relationships across project functions

  • Communicate clearly, confidently, and commercially at senior level

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline

  • 10+ years’ experience in CSA delivery on large construction projects

  • Proven experience as CSA Lead, Senior CSA Manager, Construction Manager, or similar

  • Experience on data centre, industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects preferred

  • Strong knowledge of civil works, structural works, architectural fit-out, and underground services

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams

  • Strong subcontractor management capability

  • Good understanding of programme, commercial, quality, HSE, and handover requirements
