Location: Hybrid London, UK (3Days/Week)
Duration: 6months+
500GBP/Day Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on C++ Production Support Engineer to support and enhance a legacy Treasury platform within Goldman Sachs. This role involves a mix of technical remediation on an existing C++ codebase and long-term production support across internal GS platforms and tools. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a high-ownership environment, supporting critical systems, resolving technical issues, and contributing to platform stability and modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform technical remediation and vulnerability fixes within a legacy C++ codebase
Debug, analyze, and enhance mature platform components to improve stability and performance
Resolve technical debt items in collaboration with internal engineering teams
Provide day-to-day production support for the Treasury/LPS platform
Execute operational runbooks, including onboarding activities and database-related updates
Monitor platform health, investigate incidents, and support issue resolution
Assist in improving and scaling the existing support model across teams
Integrate platform workflows with internal scheduling and monitoring tools
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support operational and technical requirements
Learn and support internal Goldman Sachs platforms such as SecDB and Slang
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on C++ development and debugging experience
Experience working in production support or application support environments
Good understanding of Unix/Linux systems, preferably with Solaris exposure
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues independently
Experience supporting business-critical or enterprise applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with legacy systems and large codebases
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
Good communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to learn internal tools and technologies
Preferred Skills
Exposure to financial services, treasury, or trading platforms
Experience with legacy system modernization or technical remediation projects
Familiarity with scripting, automation, or query-based systems
Understanding of monitoring tools, operational processes, and incident management
Experience working in investment banking or enterprise support environments
