About the Role
A leading energy and sustainability firm is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Power Trader to join their trading team. This is an exciting opportunity to operate at the forefront of European energy markets, supporting trade execution, market analysis, and the development of trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret European power markets to identify trading opportunities.
Analyse price trends, market data, and regulatory developments to inform trading decisions.
Execute trades, manage positions, and optimise portfolio performance.
Quote and manage client flow efficiently.
Collaborate with analysts, risk managers, and operations teams to improve trading workflows.
Take ownership of risk allocation and contribute to achieving P&L targets.
Ideal Candidate
Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years’ experience trading power curves or supporting trading activities in European power markets, with a proven track record of market engagement and commercial impact.
Experience with client flow quoting or market making.
Exposure to physical power markets and PPAs.
Strong analytical skills with experience handling large datasets (Python, SQL, advanced Excel preferred).
Skilled in developing and implementing models to support data-driven decision-making.
Solid understanding of trading platforms, market structures, and trade lifecycle processes.
Strong numerical ability and attention to detail, with the ability to manage operational trading processes accurately.
